David Babakaiff is the co-founder and CEO of VanPlex, a Vancouver-based platform focused
on making small-scale multiplex housing executable at scale.

With over 25 years in residential construction and development, David has worked across
single-family, infill, and missing-middle projects, including hands-on delivery of duplex, fourplex,
and multiplex housing under evolving zoning and SSMUH frameworks.

At VanPlex, he works directly with developers, builders, and capital partners to evaluate what
actually pencils in Vancouver—combining site-level feasibility, construction cost realities, and
time-to-permit constraints into repeatable delivery models.

builds to scalable programs.
